I just wanted to let you all know about a fun field trip our family just went on. It was to the central kitchen of the Granite School District kitchens. It's the place that makes the food for all the Granite School District schools. They sent out a postcard invititing people to come see their kitchens and we were the first ones to respond! They are VERY nice and it's fun to see the huge mixers, ovens, fridges, freezers, storage, docking/loading, even washing dishes. They REALLY want people to come see their set up (it's fairly new), so if this is any interest to you, here's the contact person. Just tell her you'd like to set up a field trip. My cousin, Charlotte McKenzie, shared this with the Salt Lake Home Educator's Group. I thought it sounded fun and wanted to share it with you:

So I would suggest going as smaller groups (families). I think you'll have a better experience and be able to hear better and have a personalized experience. Happy field tripping! Charlotte McKenzie
